Canada's UN Haiti Fund - Please Help
Dear UNA-Canada Friends,
I am sure like all of us you have been following the unfolding tragedy in Haiti with concern and compassion. We have received many inquiries from people from all walks of life who are moved by the situation and searching for ways to make a difference. With the UN itself front and centre (including with grave loss of life, including UN humanitarian works as well as peacekeepers) delivering immediate humanitarian and peacekeeping response – and in for the long haul – UNA-Canada is raising funds for this critical work.
You should know that we've been in dialogue with the Secretary General's office and UNDP and we all agree this is a moment to let Canadians know how their UN works and to how individual Canadians and organizations can help. Together we can ensure that the blue flag of the UN is a continuing beacon of hope and assistance.
I urge you to check out our home page to donate to UNA-Canada. I also urge you to engage your board, friends and employers in our efforts to raise funds for the victims of this tragic earthquake in Haiti.
Canada's ties with Haiti are strong. Our ties with the UN are strong. Our commitment to the delivery of development aid and humanitarian assistance is also strong. Please help us help.
Let’s make a significant collective difference.
Warmest thanks for your help,
k
